About me

Curious by default. Practical by experience.

I am Renat Ibragimov, a senior software engineer in Austin, Texas. I enjoy turning difficult product ideas into clear systems that teams can understand, operate, and continue improving.

My path

From early systems work to full product ownership.

Engineering across eras

My career began with PHP, Python, Perl, C++, Microsoft SQL Server, and a small development agency. That broad foundation grew into deep Ruby on Rails experience and, later, Elixir, Phoenix, LiveView, modern JavaScript, and mobile products.

Product-minded work

I care about the user workflow, the data model, the operational constraints, and the team that must live with the code. Architecture is useful when it helps the product adapt—not when it exists to impress other engineers.

Learning through independent products

Papereg, ResellerIO, Oceanowledge, Texas Heavy, and Eos Learning are how I explore new product domains and own the full delivery loop. They force every architectural idea to meet a real interface, real data, and real maintenance.

Knowledge should travel

I mentor developers, create course material, document patterns, and write about tools and experiments. Clear communication is part of engineering because systems only remain healthy when other people can understand them.

Working principles

What you can expect from me.

These are not abstract values. They are the habits I use to make decisions in production.

01

Make the problem concrete

Trace the real workflow, establish evidence, and define the user or operational outcome before reaching for abstractions.

02

Prefer maintainable momentum

Ship the smallest complete solution, preserve data and existing behavior, and leave the next engineer a clear path forward.

03

Own verification

Tests, browser checks, monitoring, rollback thinking, and honest completion reports belong to the implementation—not after it.

“Clean code matters. Clear decisions and reliable delivery matter more.”
